Smoked Thyme Old Fashioned

Table of Contents

I am continuing the month of simple recipes with bold flavors! Today, enjoy a simple Old Fashioned with homemade Thyme Simple Syrup!

To make the simple syrup, add water and sugar to a pot (see amounts below) and throw in some Thyme sprigs! The flavor profile of this simple syrup is very herbaceous and makes me crave a ribeye. Looks like I planned dinner for you tonight, as well!

For this cocktail, you actually have a few options of Smoke Dust to choose from depending on the best fit for your taste buds!

Lemon Peel Smoke Dust will bring out more of a ‘sour’ citrus flavor

Thyme Smoke Dust- will bump up the herbaceous flavor

Bourbon Barrel Smoke Dust- balances the lemon and thyme flavors and highlights the bourbon

If you haven’t purchased any of our Herbs & Spices Smoke Dusts, be sure to check those out here
