Valentine’s Day is drawing closer and if you want to surprise the love of your life with a sweet cocktail, add this one to the menu! I love playing with flavor twists on a classic Old Fashioned and let me tell you…this fig simple syrup will give you goosebumps! It’s THAT good!

Chocolate and Fig Old Fashioned

Equipment

  • 1 pot
  • 1 sealable container
  • 1 Smokeshow Cocktail Smoker
  • 1 Butane Torch
  • 1 Bar Spoon

Ingredients

Fig Simple Syrup

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 chopped figs

Cocktail

  • 2 oz Bourbon
  • 1.5 oz Fig Simple Syrup
  • 1 oz Creme de Cacao
  • 1-2 dashes Cinnamon Bitters

Garnish & Smoke

  • 1 pinch Cinnamon or Bourbon Barrel Smoke Dust
  • 1 Expressed Orange Peel
  • 1 Chocolate Square (optional)

Instructions

Simple Syrup

  • Bring ingredients to a boil. Let cool. Store in a sealed container.
    1 cup water, 1 cup sugar, 2 chopped figs

Cocktail

  • Combine all ingredients in glass over ice. Stir.
    2 oz Bourbon, 1.5 oz Fig Simple Syrup, 1 oz Creme de Cacao, 1-2 dashes Cinnamon Bitters

Garnish & Smoke

  • Smoke with smoke dust of choice. Express orange peel over drink, add a chocolate bar to the side!
    1 pinch Cinnamon or Bourbon Barrel Smoke Dust, 1 Expressed Orange Peel, 1 Chocolate Square (optional)
